Researchers of DDMS bring in over 280 projects each year, which are sponsored either by governmental or industrial agencies. Typical research projects include studies funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Program on Key Basic Research Projects of China (973 Program), National Hi-Tech Research and Development Plan (863 Project) of China; while typical consulting projects include Seismic Test on Shanghai Tower, Seismic Test and Nonlinear Analysis of Shanghai World Financial Center Tower, Seismic Performance Study on Orient Pearl TV Tower of Shanghai. By October 2018, DDMS faculty published over 1000 papers, obtained 44 awards and 72 patents.
