报告简介 (Abstract) :
Organic-inorganic interfaces exist in many civil structures. The interface between the organic
adhesive (for example, epoxy) and the concrete in a reinforced structure externally bonded
by steel plates or fiber reinforced polymers (FRPs) is a typical example of such an interface.
The long-term durability of this organic-inorganic interface in aggressive environments plays
a critical role in the success of the structures. Although we have accumulated extensive
knowledge have developed various research approaches on the durability on the bulk
concrete or the adhesive, the long-term durability of the interface is still an unresolved
issue. In this talk, an interface fracture mechanics based approach is adopted to study the
deterioration of the epoxy-concrete interface subject to moisture ingress.
